Celebrates International Women’s Day March 8, 2010
International Women’s Day is the story of ordinary women as makers of history;
it is rooted in the centuries-old struggle of women to participate in society
on an equal footing with men. With a large number of female learners (30% approx)
and a conscious attempt to produce gender receptive course material, NIOS is
constantly organizing events which would sensitize its officials towards the
concerned issues. On the occasion of International Women’s Day (8th March),
NIOS salutes the spirit of woman by organizing a Talk on Sexual Harassment at
Workplace and a Gender Sensitization Workshop within the office premises on
the 8th March, 2010. The event has been organized with an objective of creating
gender friendly environment at NIOS.
The Talk on Sexual Harassment at Workplace shall be delivered by Mr. Madhav Khurana, an advocate with an extensive experience record at both the High Court as well as the Supreme Court. While the workshop on Gender Sensitization would be conducted by Dr. Sudha Sood, Life Skill Expert and Director, Health Education and Learning Programmes (HELP) and Dr. Malini Kapoor, Life Skill Expert and Consultant HELP . The programme would be attended by NIOS officials at various levels.
